Hi Everyone
Jenette and I want to share with you our plans for Greenport
Tea Company beginning January 2012.
We’ve decided to shift the focus of the business to retail, moving away from
the restaurant side of the business. We decided
to make this change for a variety of reasons, a few we want to share with you. As
many of you know Jenette’s only opportunity to go home to England is once a
year in January. She would like the flexibility to spend more time with her
family in England which currently is not possible since she does all the
cooking. I think you all would agree having
someone else step in and take over the cooking just wouldn’t be the same. And I have wanted to do more with the retail
side of the business- expand on the teas, teaware and on- line business, etc. Change
is a good thing and the time is right.
With that said, the location we are currently in on Main St. doesn’t suit our
purpose as we move forward so we will be moving Greenport Tea Company to Front
St in Greenport, across from Mitchell Park ( in the bricked pedestrian square).
Thank you all for your loyal support over the years. We have gotten to know so many of our
customers on a personal level. We have been privileged to share in your happy
memories of the tea shop.
We are very excited about this new chapter and look forward
to seeing you all in our new location. Until then, we are open for lunch and
afternoon tea, through the holidays. And of course you can continue to order
our tea on-line.
